I created this during the Covid-19 pandemic, when frustration and loss of hope were everywhere. I needed to lift my own spirit, so I worked in blue tones—using abstraction to reflect a shared inner state and the idea that we should not give up hope, no matter the stage of life.
It holds presence through its quiet restraint, gently inviting conversation about endurance and belief. Viewers are drawn into questions of what hope looks like beneath stillness. Rooted in a specific moment and guided by a clear way of seeing through color, it holds together with emotional coherence. Its rich blue field unfolds gradually, becoming something one returns to and speaks about—a subtle emotional resonance that emerges more clearly the longer it is held in view.
